If you build it, will they come?

Let's cut to the chase - launching a webstore for apparel can be a daunting task. Don't get me wrong, it's one of the most incredible feelings when you hit "publish" and see it go live. The issue is that some brands still believe to this day, in 2023, that if they do this without any type of strategy, that it will still be profitable. With so many clothing brands and online stores already established, how are you going to stand out and create a successful business. The answer? STRATEGY and knowing your WHY. Here are some quick tips to get started:

• Define your niche and target audience

One of the most important steps in launching a webstore for apparel is to define your niche and target audience. You want to offer something unique and specific that sets you apart from the competition. This could be a focus on sustainable and ethical apparel and products, or perhaps a focus on a specific style or demographic.

Once you have defined your niche, you need to identify your target audience. Who are they? What are their interests, values, and preferences? Understanding your target audience will help you tailor your marketing efforts and product offerings to their needs. • Create a strong brand identity A strong brand identity is essential for any successful webstore. Your brand identity should be consistent across all aspects of your store, including your website design, social media presence, and product offerings. Consistency is actually the key!

HOWLER BROS. does it so well. I am obsessed with this brand!

But also LIQUID DEATH!

• Choose high-quality products

If you're going to do it, then DO IT! The quality of your products is crucial for building customer trust and loyalty. Make sure you choose high-quality materials and work with reliable manufacturers and suppliers.

This can easily be up for debate...but CARHARTT could take the lead. Or at least be a runner up.

• Have a dialed in and incredible UI/UX

Your website is the backbone of your webstore, so it's important to invest in a user-friendly and visually appealing design. Make sure your website is easy to navigate, loads quickly, and has clear and concise product descriptions. If this is the first place your potential customer goes to check you out for the first time, give them the experience of their life!

Let's go ahead and get it out of the way - APPLE But also - SPRITE.....WOAH!

• Create a strong social media presence

Social media is still powerful. Use it. Oh, and did I mention consistency is key?! Consider partnering with influencers or co-branding to reach a wider audience.

I mean, PLAYSTATION does a pretty good job.

• Offer excellent customer service

The best brands have nothing short of excellent customer service. Build trust and loyalty with your customers because after all, the company doesn't own the brand. The consumers do. Respond quickly and focus on solutions to any issues.

There's no denying, PATAGONIA takes the win every time here.

- Maybe you already doing these things - Awesome, keep it up. Continue to make it better. - Perhaps you left out a few of the points mentioned here. It's ok, it's NOT too late. Revisit and execute. YOU GOT THIS! - Maybe you're still wondering if you should have a webstore.....ok, now this is an entirely different conversation we should be having, but yes. Yes, you need to have an online presence.

Hey Adam- I was given your name by Betty at FINN Partners. She said you could recommend a short run supplier. I'm producing jerseys / tees for our Kickball team, which I approximate to be around 30 pcs or less. Sorry I'm using this blog comment area to inquire but I couldn't find another way to contact you. I'm Ricky with FINN Partners ricky.carroll@finnpartners.com

Appreciate your help
